PRIYAN IS THANKFUL TO SHIKSHA SAMBAL PROGRAM FOR HER MERITORIOUS RESULT

Date:

Schools in rural areas have their own challenges in terms of providing education to students, where the qualified and experienced teachers are not available especially for major subjects – Science, English and Maths.

From a small village in Dariba, Rajsamand, Priyan Sinyal, like many other students has big dreams and aspirations in life. But, Priyan considers her school in Mehenduriya very different from other schools. The reason, is her faith in Hindustan Zinc’s Shiksha Sambal Program.

Priyan, topped her 10th standard in her Senior Secondary Meheduriya school and stood in the top 10 meritorious students in her district of Rajsamand, attained 90% in her 10th, scoring 97 marks in Maths, 91 marks in Science and 75 marks in English.

Priyan’s father who is a PTI teacher in Khadbamniya village and mother, a housewife, along with her teachers, have been a constant motivation to her.

Priyan had many opportunities to move to more reputed schools in nearby cities for further studies, however, she continued to stay in her school  for further studies because of her trust in the teachers and her capabilities that she got through Shiksha Sambal Program.

Shiksha Sambal Prgram has deputed qualified teachers from external sources for Science, English and Maths subjects, in Government’s Senior Secondary Mehenduriya School for the students appearing for board examination. The project is running since 2009 in this school, showing significant improvement in the results every year.

“Priyan had not only made her school and her parents, but her entire community and district proud. This project has not only helped students but has also provided the employment opportunities to qualified teachers like us within the premises of our own villages…”, said her Science teacher Kaluram.

“Shiksha Sambal has provided a platform to empower students like me to pursue our dreams for higher and better education. I also want to be a teacher like my father and my teachers here…”, quoted joyful Priyan, who has opted for PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Maths) in the 11thstandard.

This Project is being implemented in 59 governments schools across Ajmer, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Rajsamand and Udaipur districts of Rajasthan and reaches out to around 6500 students from classes 9th to 12th.
